RF Welding

STRUCTURE OF POLYURETHANE FOAM

RF Welding, also referred to as Radio Frequency Welding, is the process of bonding materials together through electromagnetic energy. This bond is fostered when molecules begin to melt and bond without the application of heat. The weld is complete after pressure is applied to the bonded area. This process produces an air tight seal which is imperative in the function of FXI’s low air loss (LAL) support surfaces and air bladders. The benefit of RF welding in comparison to other application is the completeness of this weld.

APPLICATIONS OF RF WELDING

The RF welding process provides air tight seals specific to products within FXI’s healthcare business. Primarily used in air bladders, water tight seams in covers, and welding small components into covers, this is an integral process to FXI’s low air loss (LAL) support surfaces and air bladders.
